Anyone had any luck with the AS3935 (Lightning Sensor) ?

I ordered 2 a while back and both give different results, so finally after umming and arrrring I bought a proper lightning detector which tells me how far away the lightning strikes is, backlit, it beeps and lights up, i think it pretty much covers it all..

And the Detector seemed to match up with similar results as just 1 of my boards (after playing with the light switch to trigger false lightning strikes while standing near or further away)

it's a shame I can't remember which of the two was working lol... I bought two breakouts...

Anyway i'll rebuild it when i see a storm aproaching and I hope at least 1 of the 3 detectors work lol (I got a feeling the one i just bought will do the job just nicely)

But if anyone's interesting in making a lightning detector, these boards seem to do the trick, it might be I have 1 working one and 1 faulty one there was no way for sure to tell so i bought a store made one ...

and if you have used one/bought one... how'd it go? any issues (for example using a breadboard raises it's own issues)
