Anyone tried developing FMS (Frequency Specific MicroCurrent). Similar to TENS machines, but uses millicurrent and 10-900Hz freq

In theory, this could be done. I've seen posts from 7-10 years ago regarding TENS machines (the ones that people use for pain and for muscles) and were able to adjust the freq, volt, current, waveform, via arduino.

This is a new route...Rather than using microAmps, the FMS machines, need the following:
Any guidance or group start would be great!

  1. DC operated
  2. 2 independent output channels; each be set to a 3-digit specific frequency with 1 decimal point precision.
  3. Current can be set between 10 and 600 microamps and is delivered with a variable slope ramped SQUARE Wave.
  4. DC current can be used in alternating, positive, or negative mode
  5. Unit comes with four leads, two for each channel, connected through a state of the art DIN plug
  6. Frequencies being delivered, the polarity, the time elapsed, and remaining time, and the current level are all shown on the LED/OLED screen
6a. These features must all be adjustable via knobs or buttons.
6b. Feature (bluetooth connection to app for control --optional)

Info on main leading provider of FSM is : FAQs - Frequency Specific Microcurrent

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.

Do you have a medical condition or is this an assignment from a professor ?

This forum has technicians and nerds. That means we don't use words as "microcurrent" or "millicurrent". Those do not exist, they are made up words.
The medical claims are very trivial, I have serious doubts about this project.
Do you want to apply probes to humans or animals for muscle or tissue stimulation ? That is dangerous. Don't do it.

Keopel - thanks for the reply.

There are many papers regarding this and it is actually not as trivial as it may seem. Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins and even Mayo Clinic have done trials from what I have seen.

** The FDA has cleared TENS devices as save products, but again, this is nothing like that. Can we please disregard the fact of any concern for medical use. I am trying to produce this for lab studies of output only and not using on people. I just want to see if it can be created at home, since it is already created on the market and in china.

This is safer than a TENS machine that uses MILLICurrent Amps. This uses 1000 Times Less. In practicality. Although most will not believe the efficacy of this, I'm hoping just for some guidance on the conversion and application of the frequency and microcurrent amps, without criticism of how it may or may not work.

Regarding Efficacy for Naysayers:
In fact, Cleveland Clinic's "CENTER FOR PEDIATRIC INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE" is actively treating pediatric patients with this.

Again, any assistance on the actual fundamentals of the device in question without criticism of unhelpful / nonresearched claims is greatly appreciated.
