hello!
anyone wants to collaborate on the classic robotic arm project ?
no business application, just a home project for fun
Even if im not an expert of Arduino (but im pretty comfortable on the basics right now ) I'm an Electronic Engineer and I know I could do that myself by googling all the parts but I'd enjoy more sharing the experience/issues with someone ! (and probably will speed up the execution ! )
anyone interested ?
I do have few specs / pieces I'd like to use but I'm very flexible here and can change based on better ideas
thanks,
Fabio
Im writing from Florence,Italy - ( But its more likely that collaboration will be remote )
Hi Fabio,
Sounds interesting... do you have a hardware design in mind, or are you looking for collaborative ideas on that too?
Pat
PS - if we build 2, maybe they could arm wrestle! That might involve a trip to Florence, hmmmmm.
hi Pat!
this is what i did so far : One motor ,one joystick to - more or less - command it .

I don't have a detailed design yet , I'm thinking to control the hand by 2 joystick first , then maybe use some resource like this to work with coordinates .. ( GitHub - yorkhackspace/meArm: Inverse kinematics control library for Phenoptix meArm )
For the hardware, I'm thinking on building it myself (except maybe the "hand" will have to be purchased ) ,
I've tried to cut some thin metal bars they seem ok . will post picture later
I've ordered several motors and a controller (below links , I might start with them hoping they are sufficient )
Said that , Im open to any idea !
still interested ?
Fabio
Hi Fabio,
I'm sorry to not get back with you on this. I'm neck deep in "paid" work, so my "fun" work has been on the back burner.
Is anyone else interested in collaborating on this too?
Pat.
