I was thinking of doing a project where there will be an arduino on a small weather balloon. Using infrared it can communicate with other, arduinos on a balloon, to accomplish a task like navigating a house with small motorized fans to move. My first question is, can i have 2 infrared transmitter reciver pairs in one room. My second is, is there a way, besides gps, for robots to know where they are. Thanks so much!
You might want to check out: http://diydrones.com/ especially the "BlimpDuino"
Is there anything like using the arduino Diecimila and a few infrared transmitter recievers?

did you look at the links on the page ericski posted?

Maybe i did not make myself clear, i want to use the arduino http://blog.craftzine.com/sparkfun_arduino-1.jpg, The actual board, to have the actual board read infrared sensor data to do a certain task. Then transmit via infrared to another robot so it can perform a certain task. Is there a diagram of sorts that will show me how two arduinos can comunicate sensor data wirelessly. Thank you.
". It consists of an Arduino-based blimp controller board"
and as for a diagram, what are you looking for, how the sensors communicate or are you looking for an infrared protocol?
