Arduino Github Sponsors should be supporting open-source developers

Arduino Github sponsorship program should not be taking money from users to support Arduino. Every penny going to Arduino should go out to the massive open-source user base that supports Arduino coding.

A simple automated request for funding form and then a rational for a top tier group (possibly selected by Arduino employees). That automated list could then be used to randomly select open-source developers to support for x months.

The PR Arduino would gain from this would be huge compared to the present situation where 8 people currently support Arduino Sponsor @arduino on GitHub Sponsors · GitHub

If Arduino advertised that every penny going to the sponsorship program was going to go to open-source developers your sponsorship would grow and it would look good for the company.

Arduino could be a leader in the open-source community starting a trend to give back to their user-base some people of which work very hard to support Arduino

Massimo probably already knows my thoughts on this topic. It just takes someone who understands how to activate it for it to work.
