I had watched it way back when i had no clue whan an arduino is.
Now that i know (and i have an identical looking clone), it instantly grabbed my attention, lol.

In the Jack Ryan Jr novels, Campus IT Director Gavin Birey has operators carry 32u4s that he programs to perform hacks, such as reading the current code from a hotel door lock and then feeding it back to the lock as input. Arduino is not mentioned specifically though.
