Arduino is Australia. Where to buy ?

I've just cancelled an order I put through to Little Bird Electronics in Sydney, Australia, as I ordered on Wednesday the 18th, and despite leaving about 5 messages to get an ETA, I have recieved no communication from them what so ever.

Is there a company in Australia who actually wants my business ? Any other suggestions, on how I can get my hardware to get my projects completed would be gratefuly received.

Where are the other Aussies getting their kit from ?

Arduino in Australia. Where to buy ?

adafruit.net and sparkfun.com have reasonable shipping to australia. Of course the current exchange rate is a killer...

Hi There,

Same issue for me, littlebird are very slow, nice to deal with when you do get them though.

I've found that I can have items shipped from the US fater than via littlebird.

I'm not sure where else in Aus might have some. Ebay is always an option.

If you can afford to wait a few weeks, try littlebird again. they will get the stuff to you. Usualy right at the moment your about to give up the items arrive. (happened to me twice)

Thanks for the replies, I've cancelled the order, as I simply don't deal with people who advise me in writing to call any time, then don't reply to either email or phone messages for several days. That is simply, no way to run a business.

I will probally order through sparkfun.com. Any other Aussies interested in a bulk order ?

Found a real company who has Arduinos, answers their phone and actually ships things.

www.oceancontrols.com.au

They have promised to have them to me overnight.

Arrived today.

Entire transaction completed, in a 5 th of the time it took Little Bird to pick up the phone.
Aussies, if you want your kit promptly, ocean controls is the way to go.

Just wanted to tap up this thread. I've dealt with both companies. I also found Little Bird to be slow on the up take with 2 orders...took a couple of weeks for something that should've taken 2-3 days tops. I also note that they have a real person answering the calls, but it's just one of those paid answering services...

Ocean Controls on the other hand, overnight, quick as. No complaints.

I've just ordered a Bare Bones Board kit (and some more stuff) from MDC, and the shipping was surprisingly cheap. For everything I ordered (the kit, a spare ATMega, LCD, LCD driver, and more, the shipping was about 7 USD).

The ETA was about a week, so should arrive in three days.
I'll post when it arrives

Hmm.. shame, I ordered mine from Little Bird on Friday, got shipping conformation Monday and hope to see it today crossed fingers

Perhaps they have changed their ways

You might get lucky, but its unlikely. I have been waiting what feels like a month but its more 2 and a half weeks for mine to arrive from Little Bird.

There is a discussion going on at the moment on this thread http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1199921487

feel free to let us know how it works out for you, you might be lucky and be the one and only customer who gets there shipment on time :stuck_out_tongue:

Good luck :stuck_out_tongue:

i ordered from seeedstudio shipping to Thailand. Very fast, great communication and really cheap shipping prices. should be good source for Australia as well.
