Arduino MEGA connecting to windows 7

I am new to the Arduino. I purchased a UNO a few weeks back and had limited problems. I was able to download the Arduino IDE software, program it, and start the tutorials. I've now purchased a MEGA 2560 from Ebay (listed as MEGA 2560 R3 Board ATmega2560-16AU CH340G) and I can't get the board to be recognized by my computer. I am using an older laptop running Windows 7. At first, in the devices listing, it would just say "Serial 2" and unrecognized. There were no option to update drivers. I found another listing on this forum sending me to a chinese website to download a CH340.exe file, which I hesitantly tried. Now under devices it says USB Serial CH340, but still has a yellow caution symbol by it. The Arduino IDE still has the ports menu grayed out. Everything I've seen posted on here seems really old. I don't seem to have any MEGA2560 drivers loaded with the IDE, but I do see it mentioned in Arduina Setup file under drivers. I'm not a strong windows systems guy, so I'm kind of at a loss as what to do. Any help is appreciated. I'm trying to make a Stranger Things wall paper board for my daughter for Christmas.

I was able to uninstall the CH340.exe and my devices page is back to showing "USB2.0-Serial". I have the exe file so I can install and uninstall as appropriate.

Anyone able to help? I was told I may need to re-install IDE with the MEGA board plugged in, I did that with no change. I still don't know what to do.

You installed the CH340 driver so you don't need to do anything else if it came from the OFFICIAL SOURCE

On rare occasions additional security such as antivirus etc can interfere with the driver so I normally recommend turning off that security just to install the driver and then installing as a full administrator (google will tell you how to do that)

The symbol you are seeing always has some additional information when you click on it and that information my help us to help you.
