Arduino Nesso N1 upload ffat partition data

Dear Forum!

I would like to use the ffat partition of the Arduino Nesso N1, but the file upload fails. I followed the steps on the GitHub - marcmerlin/esp32_fatfsimage: FATFS image creation for the ESP32 page, but after uploading the image, FFat.begin() returns an error, there is no file system to mount. If I format the partition using ffat_test.ino, it works without problems, the test runs without errors.

Is there a solution to this problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

I looked into it a bit, I saved the file system formatted with the ffat_test.ino sketch to an image file and compared it with the one created by fatfsimage.

I found a striking difference, in the file system formatted with ffat_test.ino the entries of the files start at offset 0x4000, while in the one created with fatfsimage it starts at offset 0x3000.

The latter is written to if I mount the image file in a loop device, in addition to the fact that the files at offset 0x4000 are also visible, but when loaded back to the microcontroller, it does not see the files registered at address 0x3000.

Also, in the descriptions of espressif 0x3000 is mentioned everywhere as the standard offset of the fat table of the fat12 file system.

Does anyone have any information on where this difference comes from?
