Arduino Power Over Ethernet (POE)

Are there any Power Over Ethernet modules for Arduino? This can be a complete arduino, or just a schield.

It's easier to get the ethernet cable to to the arduino than a 230V + adaptop. Even the internet acces is more stable than wifi.

What made you think that it was appropriate to post it in the Covid 19 section of teh forum ?

A Google search on the title of your post 'Arduino Power Over Ethernet (POE) points to;

Yes I saw that item but its "Retired" so for bigger projects its not an option anymore.

You might want to have this thread moved to networking.. they deal with this more over there.

The product is retired not obsolete.
Amazon
Banggood
And maybe Adafruit

IIRC it requires the hub/switch also have to be designed to provide POE

If its retired and not obsolete. Do you expect it can be delivered for the next few years?

Its going to be a big project for the next years with maybe 1000 units in total.

If this is a large scale commercial project, then perhaps you need to find a solution outside of the hardware that Arduino can supply as I doubt very much Arduino would guarantee supplies for that long.

There are numerous POE injectors and extractors out there that are independant of Arduino.

Perhaps seek the advice of a professional electronics engineer.

I would suggest you post in the networking forum

you have a 2 year project and are looking for a possible 1,000 pieces
you may find that the reason the Arduino version is retied is that there is a much better solution and if anyone would have it
