Arduino power supply question

Hello

I would need some ideas related to powering an arduino and a sensor.

The idea is that I would like to power the system I made from something else than the classic 5V power source.

The total current I need is about 1-1.2 A/.

The components that MUST be powered are: an ESP8266 board and a sensor that consumes 1 A( for very short period ~100us .

What about something like a Mean Well RS-15-5 with a USB to Bare Wire Cable?
If you need more voltage for the sensor you could use a buck converter for the Arduino down from a higher voltage.

Well there is a resettable fuse in most Arduinos that will limit the current through the USB cable to about 500mA.

Sorry for the ambiguity, I didn't do it on purpose.

By the classic 5V source( bad English) I meant the 5V power supply.

I want to reduce the size of my system and I was thinking maybe I can use something other than a 5V power supply.

Again, I apologize for my possible unintentional disinterest!

this is the type of power supply I currently use, but it takes up too much space.

If your Arduino is designed to run from 5V, then you need to power it with 5V.

Perhaps you are wanting to know what alternative sources of 5V power you could use? Maybe a standalone battery source.

Did you intend to attach a picture or provide a link to your power source?
