i am new to arduino ...kindly help me to fix this issue ..

If using windows, does the Uno show up on device manager as a COM port ?
If yes, is that port configured in the IDE ?
If not, you'll need drivers, Chinese clones use a usb chip that need the correct driver, tell us more about your Uno, probably a pic or a link to your board will do.
