Looking for a program which uses a IR transmitter and optical sensor for detecting the present of an object.
A program which accomplishes this exist, saw it once can not locate again. The IR emitter transmits a pulse train. The optical sensor output is averaged to determine the ambient light level. The program then looks for a señor level above the ambient light level.
