Arduino Web Editor not finding my Arduino

Chrome browser, Windows 10. I installed the file and I can run the web editor but it cannot find any of my Arduino. If I checked the drop down menu, I can only see list of boards but no com port. I have tried 3 different Uno (R2 and 2 R3s) and a Nano. Error message (No Plugin Connection. Uploading is disabled until you reconnect.) suggests reinstalling which I did but I still can't see or access any of my Arduino.

The plugin shows as gray only and when I tried to open it, nothing seems to happen.

Arduino IDE finds them all just fine so it's not the cable or Arduino board. It seems like the browser or the plugin can't access the USB port to communicate.

Hi there,

I am experiencing the same issue (also Chrome + Win10 64 bit). I did a fair bit of googling but did not really find any useful advice.

The debug console does not indicate, it had recognized anything on any port (screenshot). My Nano is connected directly to PC's USB port.

Cheers,

Ok, can confirm now that I was using a faulty USB cable. I have eliminated two of my (cheaper) cables and moved them to the bin. With several others from my box it works like a charm...

Hi,
I experienced the same problem, I was unable to see arduino port number in my chrome browser and also on internet explorer.

so after some google searches i used this link from arduino to install arduino create agent on my device after this step i am able to program arduino uno.
