Automated RFID with GPS

Hi how you ding all
sorry I am new here but I have a question if you could guide me
so I have a project in which I had lots of products in Stock so I put RFID Tag in each product
and I want to have an automatic scan with a detect position of every product
here I mean the product is in stock and I want to I don't know to put maybe antenna or something with a wide range to make scan every time
I don't wanna any human interference, and that all collected data to the computer
so can you help me with how to start or any ideas I will be thankful
have a nice day

It's a difficult problem to solve. There are handheld readers that can see tags 70ft away. Zebra is one manufacturer. They're expensive - around $1200 last time I looked. They don't know where they are though - all they do is read and report on the tags they saw, so you have some work to interface them to a computer and somehow figure out where the inventory actually is. Maybe you could have an RFID tag that identifies the bin/storage are being scanned.

That doesn't solve your wish to automate the whole thing though. There are vendors that put detectors on doors and scan all the time so they keep track of what came in and out. I don't recall which particular manufacturers make such things. I'm sure their stuff is even more expensive though.

Don't forget that the tech isn't infallible either. It's radio based, so the signal can be blocked and you can miss some of the tags.

Maybe you could build your own doorway scanning system if the place your inventory is stored is set up in a suitable way.

And whilst you did not say (hint!) where this project is to be implemented, the chances of getting GPSs to work reliably indoors are slim.
