[SOLVED] Badges - When do you get them?
Here is a new topic. This is all about the badges. These include the following. I would like to have the following question answered: When do you get this? Any ideas? Apparently these are named after personal names. But why? Maybe because they were famous.
I just want to know when to get these badges. And for the critics : NO, NOT to clutter up the forum to get these badges.
And those who would like to have badges: HERE you are wrong! Do not clutter the forum just to have your badge. That's not great.
Otherwise we might have to add a Dislike button. How would that be?

Don’t know, might just be a reference to her….
I’ve a Jackson badge may be in reference to
Mary Jackson (née Winston; April 9, 1921 – February 11, 2005) was an American mathematician and aerospace engineer at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), which in 1958 was succeeded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She worked at Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, for most of her career. She started as a computer at the segregated West Area Computing division in 1951. In 1958, after taking engineering classes, she became NASA's first bl...
So may be famous women in tech? (Mary was a NASA Hidden Figure who helped the US Win the space race)
But does that make sense? Assumptions don't help me much....

I like to see it that way so don’t look further. We don’t have enough women in tech, so I see that as a way to pay tribute to them (and hopefully encourage more to join)
Let's leave it at that. So when do you get the badge?

I don’t know, after a while…
This gamification thingy is futile…
I checked other badges and they also have the Lovelace badge - so I would say it’s
Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (née Byron; 10 December 1815 – 27 November 1852) was an English mathematician and writer, chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage's proposed mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine. She was the first to recognise that the machine had applications beyond pure calculation, and to have published the first algorithm intended to be carried out by such a machine. As a result, she is often regarded as the first computer programmer. Ada ...

I didn't think these bages, named after famous people, were given out since the forum software changed.

It's great that you're replying, but that doesn't help me. When do you get these badges?
Not Michael, the structured programming guru?
No. I'm looking for when I get the badges.
cloudDev:
When do you get this?
Total posts. Each badge will have an associated number of posts.
cloudDev:
But why?
Kudos to people active on the forum and homage to people who have made significant contributions.

Then do you know the approximate number for each badge?
I have "Telkes" as a badge. But only about 300 have that. But not admins with many posts, right?
