Beginner of Arduino

hi, I am a beginner of Arduino

I'm using 12v stepper motor, microphone sensor, Arduino uno, adafruit motor shield and 9v battery to support the motor.

I want the motor to be rotated by reacting to the microphone sensor.

When I connect the wire from power(+) of the sensor on the breadboard to the 5v on motor shield, the light on Arduino get turned off and motor doesn't rotate. It worked with 3v but I only felt the vibration from motor and it didn't rotate.

I also used 12v adaptor as power supply but same thing. happened.

Please show your schematic

12v motor and 9v battery - is this seems normal to you?

Hi,

9V batteries are not recommended for projects involving motors.
They cannot supply the currents that motors require.

even if I use 12v power supply same thing happens

I don't have schematic because I did it with my teacher and she didn't figure out what's wrong

You can draw it yourself on the paper, take a photo and insert it to the forum

3v

5V

now it's powered from this adaptor

Do you think that your photo described anything?
Bye
Good luck to your project.

Hi @nenekino ,
try drawing a schematic of your project, even if it's freehand and post here.
It will also be a good learning experience.

Thank you. Sorry that it’s black and white

That is a block diagram and does serve the purpose of showing how you have things connected. However, I have an Arduino UNO and what is in your pictures is NOT an Arduino UNO. Do you have a link to the data sheet specifications to the board you are using?

I put Adafruit motor shield on Arduino Uno. adafuruit motor shield v2

thank you

You're welcome. Please supply details of your project. All of it. All in one post.

Downloaded the PDF for that board and I see a BIG notice that you cannot use a 9 volt smoke alarm battery to power motors. WHAT is the 9 volt battery connected to your board doing?

Next to the power screw terminal of the shield are two pins.
Did you leave the jumper on?

Is it really a 12volt stepper motor, from Adafruit.
That shield can only drive brushed DC motors or high-impedance steppers.
Post a link to the motor.
Leo..

oh... a teacher gave me as a power supply for the motor
