Hi,
I have bought a small board with this 0.1" Dupont wire to board connector:

This board was sold with these 0.1" black Dupont plastic female connector

In the end I have this:

But I am facing a problem because:
a/ The connection is loose, the connector could easily quit the board connector by accident.
b/ The connection has no oriented slot to ensure correct positioning, so I never remember which positioning was correct.
Are you also facing this issue with 0.1" Dupont connectors? How do you solve it?
I can not modify the PCB here, but could I use different connectors on the wire to improve the situation?
Regards, Chris

Not sure if 4-pin jst connectors exist. If so, I would happily de-solder the existing connector and replace it with a jst connector.
What I would do, is to remove the pins from the header and squeeze the pins closed to get a tighter grip.
If you want to try to make another connector Pololu sells them. I have used lots of them and haven't had an issue.
I haven't thought about squeezing the female pin before inserting them in the 0.1" black plastic connector, I will try.
4-pin JST connectors look great, I have checked, they do exist:
But will I be able to fit a JST connector where there was a 0.1" Dupont connector ? Will it have the same width to be able to solder it where there a 0.1" Dupont connector was present ? (I do not have a JST connector to check this unfortunately)
I think it will fit on the board you showed.
Thinking about it, it might not be extremely solid as it will not have much support on the board. But at least you insert the female connector the wrong way around.
