Best place to buy cheap ICs online

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what your go-to website is if you want to get ICs such as the 741 op amp in bulk.
I'm sick of paying $1.50 a pop at radioshack! Any place where you can get working circuits like that cheap?

mouser.com

taydaelectronics.com

I get my 741s from a museum.

LM358. Two opamps in one package.
$2.08 for 50 of them, including free shipping.

Leo..

Digikey ftw. Good prices, insane selection, lightning fast shipping with usps first class (ie, the cheap option).

Depends on where you want the parts shipped. If you leave outside the US digikey.com shipping could cost you $30 for just a couple of chips.

You might then find much cheaper options on eBay or taydaelectronics.com which is located in Thailand.

It also depends on how long you are prepared to wait for the items to arrive.

Chinese sellers on eBay often have very good prices but it might take up to a month to arrive wherever you are.

I have used DigiKey for years now and always have great success !! Their on-line catalog has a really good search engine and the nice part about the company, they probably have 95 % of the items in stock !! You can order from the website or if you call in, the customer service people are very helpful. Check out the website Digikey.com .

Hi,
Another possibility: a collection of various useful IC's like this one:

(That's my take on a nice selection.. but please suggest updates for the next version of this product.)

DISCLAIMER: Mentioned stuff from my own shop...

I have had great luck ordering from Hong Kong suppliers over Ebay. The prices are good and the shipping is often free. The few times I had to order from the U.S. suppliers, it cost me much more in shipping and customs charges than the parts were worth.

I have tried Mouser and Digikey for the same. Not sure they are delivering in your area.

Answering nearly five years later. What's your point?

The trouble is so many transistors and chips from eBay these days are counterfeit or pulls, its not worth it unless
you know a known reputable supplier with a proven track record.

Hi, Real question is where do the many small suppliers stock/list stuff. As much as I hate the idea, it's Amazon.. Examples:

I have a good friend on the street in Shenzhen, but most don't...
