I am thinking about getting a Bluetooth HC-06 module but the main problem is that it will not work with an iphone which I have. My only hope is a Nexus 7, does anyone know if I can use one of the HC-06 modules with a Nexus 7? If so, how?
Cheers
Brian
Oh, does a phone have to have android? I thought that as long as it has Bluetooth it would work.
Brian
My understanding (which may be faulty) is that the IPhone has Bluetooth but needs a different Arduino bluetooth device - not a HC06.
Apart from Apple, Android is the most common OS on phones.

Robin is right, but there are two problems with iPhone

It has bluetooth but it is not compatible with a plain-vanilla HC-06, you need to use bluetooth4 (BLE)

Even if you have BLE, there is still the matter of iPhone apps appropriate for use with Arduino. I understand there aren't any, but I imagine this must change.
Note that you can get BLE modules that look, feel, and work like an HC-06, and cost only a few dollars more. They are the direct equivalent of the HC-05. While they are the way of the future, they really don't solve the phone problem and, if you have an iPhone, you can afford an Android. BLE will work with both.

That explains why I can't afford an IPhone
@meddyliol, have a look at this RemoteXY Thread.
