HI All

I have a couple of bluetooth modules and I have a problem with this one:

Arduino Android IOS HM-10 BLE Bluetooth 4.0 CC2540 CC2541 Serial Wireless Module

I have another one which is listed a HC-06 that works fine.

The HM-10 module is supposed to be Bluetooth LE.

I can not pair the HM-10 to my Android, it sees it with a name of CC-41 but fails to connect to it.
On Windows 10 on a laptop it sees it as Unknown and then as CC-41 and after a long delay says it has paired. But it does not ask for a PIN and no COM ports are created in Windows.

Should the HM-10 be basically the same as HC-06 in that it has a PIN and creates COM Ports? Or am I missing something with this device?

I only have 1 of the devices so I can not compare.

I understand the HM-10 has a six-digit password.

Also, the HM-10 is basically the same as an HC-06 inasmuch that it operates out of the box in the same way and is configured in the same manner, but the command set is more or less the same as an HC-05.

Hi Nick

Since I am not getting prompted for a password at all would you assume it is a faulty device?

I am thinking it is not working correctly since I do not get prompted and it won't connect to my Phone.

No. It may be a procedural matter at the Android end. Are you doing the pairing in the settings?
