im searching for miniature wire to board connectors. I dont want FPC or FFC. I have normal wire (28 AWG) and need connectors that are as small as possible. I found some from Mex (Pico EZmate) or from JST (ADH). But they are very expensive to ship (i'm from germany). Does anybody know where to get cheap and small connectors just like the above?
Thanks.
It will likely turn out to be a limitation if you're looking for something you can crimp yourself onto loose wires. Most compact connectors that I've seen so far come pre-assembled. The larger ones such as JST-PH or XH can be DIY-ed with a crimp tool.
Sorry to be of little help; I've asked the some question a few years ago but so far haven't found anything to my liking. I make do with a combination of stuff; sometimes FPC if it needs to be really small (but it's kind of inconvenient and fragile, so I can see why you wouldn't like this), or JST-PH 2.0 pitch SMD if it's OK if it's slightly bigger.
I do sometimes see attractive connectors on photos of commercial boards that are low-profile, look sturdy and are compact, but so far haven't been able to find anything of the sort that's accessible/attractive for a DIY context.
So TL;DR - I can relate, I hope someone has a silver bullet!
It already has wires soldered to it , but I don’t like this solution because the wires tend to break real quick, and it’s just not a nice looking solution.
That’s why I would love to have small connectors.
Do you know if there are connectors where u can just put in the wires without crimping or anything? (similar to Ffc or fpc connectors)
Soldered wires will always break when the wires are flexed. If you can dress the wires and they are stranded, make the twist of the wires work for you by untwisting and twisting back, rather than bending at an angle.
