Hi everyone. I'm beginner at microcontrollers. I need your help about Buck Converter. I need to design buck converter with arduino and I have to control output voltage with POT. Here is the parameters:
Input Voltage: 9V-15V
Output Voltage: 5V
Output Current: 2A
Output Voltage Ripple: %5
Inductor Current Ripple: %20
I calculated the capacitor and inductor values but this isn't my problem. My problem is I couldn't design the circuit with arduino. I will be very thankful if you help.
Not to hard, the Buck converter has an input, place a power brick between 9 and 15 Volts, a 12Volt, 2 Amp is common and available. Now the important, if you do not have a voltmeter quit here, and get one. Connect the volt meter to the output of the Buck Converter and adjust your pot for 5 Volts Dc. Power down everything and connect the output of the buck converter to the 5 volt pin of the arduino. Any mistake by maybe 1/2 volt can destroy the arduino. I would really suggest that you plug the 12V supply directly into the barrel jack of the arduino and you are ready to go. Use the Buck converter to power your projects. This response is to help you get started in solving your problem, not solve it for you.
Good Luck & Have Fun!

You are designing the buck converter and building it from bare components like inductors and capacitors? That is a very advanced topic. Even a professional PCB designer would prefer to buy a module that has already been designed and tested by a specialist.
After selecting your inductor, you will know what current will be switched and how quickly it must switch. That will let you select a MOSFET and determine if you need a MOSFET driver.
