Build a Mobile phone detector using AD8318 RF Power Module

Hello Sir, I want to know is it possible to build a mobile phone detector based on this module. I want it able to read RF transmit by the mobile phone.

This is AD8318 RF power detector.

For an antenna I use this

Please give me some guidance. Also, can suggest where I should read more to understand this.

Yes, that seems to the only purpose for the device.

Do you have suggestion what i should study more about this project?.

No, I suggest you actually TEST what you are considering, rather than guessing.

Hello Sir,

I want to ask what kind of method that I can use into detecting mobile phone?

RF detection?
Emf detection?
Wifi Detection?

An active mobile phone will indeed exhibit some level of radio signals

One possible approach is to monitor radio frequency signals, such as cellular, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. By monitoring these signals and detecting unique markers associated with smartphones, one could infer their presence.

A spectrum analyzer is commonly used to capture RF signals - would be probably where to start.

@amankun why did you start another thread?

Anyway, see

I have merged your topics due to them having too much overlap on the same subject matter @amankun.

In the future, please only create one topic for each distinct subject matter and be careful not to cause them to converge into parallel discussions.

The reason is that generating multiple threads on the same subject matter can waste the time of the people trying to help. Someone might spend a lot of time investigating and writing a detailed answer on one topic, without knowing that someone else already did the same in the other topic.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Perhaps the greatest problem is actually detecting the random, widely varied, response of a cell phone to a "ping" from the local tower. Most of the time, your cell phone is just listening for a ping from the tower.
The second problem you have is determining the exact frequencies used by each cell phone service provider. Once your have that you can program your device to scan those frequencies and try and catch a responses to a ping.

My office PC speakers would pick up any SMS, especially Blackberry. A cheap AM radio will probably do the same.
