I'd like to do something like soldering Data+/Data- pins to TX/RX (just as an example, I don't know if it'll actually work).
Would it be possible to just solder the USB anywhere on the board to make it work the same as the micro-usb socket already on the board?
I'm trying to make my Arduino Pro Micro as small as possible, and look like a USB thumb drive, and I'm trying to solder a USB-A male port on it because the cables I use are too long and take up too much space.
You can't solder them onto TX/RX pins as it uses separate pins for USB, here is a schematic for more info.
I guess if you remove the original connector you could but an adapter like this USB Type A Male Female To Micro Mini B 5 Pin OTG Data Charger Adapter Joiner | eBay
may be a better solution.
Thank you! I guess I'll try the OTG
