Can we pin the Serial Plotter window in IDE 2.x ?

In Arduino IDE 2.x, I have the Serial Monitor pinned on the right side of the IDE. Is there any way to pin the Serial Plotter to the bottom or to the right instead?
Ideally, I’d like to be able to position the Serial Monitor and Serial Plotter independently (for example, one on the right and one on the bottom).

The Serial Plotter is in its own window so you can position it anywhere but it will not be pinned to the main IDE window

What you are seeking to do is ironic bearing in mind the complaints, including mine, that the Serial monitor is not also in its own window

Yep, different folks have different needs. That’s why OPTIONS are so important. Make both monitor floating or pinned based on user needs.

My impression is that development of the IDE has slowed down, maybe stopped, so please do not suggest complicated options however good they may be

There is no public roadmap for development of the IDE and quite possibly no roadmap at all.

The concentration, if there is one, is on bug fixes, mostly to do with the CLI which the IDE uses, rather than UI issues which make the IDE easier to use for most people so don't hold your breath

Sorry to hear that.

Will there be something else to use instead of the current IDE now that Arduino is part of Qualcomm?

Please note that this is only my personal impression and could well be wrong

I agree with you.
We have been waiting since Feb 2022 to get the number of points plotted in the Serial Plotter changed from 50 to 500 to match the IDE 1.x Serial Plotter.
