I have no problem saving a sketch to my C: drive with saveas..it creates the folder and puts the sketch into the folder.
When I do saveas to google drive ..it WILL NOT WORK

The "error" looks like you are trying to save "desktop.ini"
Restart your IDE and try again "IDE >> FILE >> SAVE AS >> PCF8575_interrupt.ino"
restarted and tried the file -> saveas and get the same error
note again if I save to C:\Users\timoc\Documents\Arduino it works
but when I save to google drive I get the error
Do you see in the error "desktop.ini" is being stored?
yes, I see the error....but I'm not specifically saving that file...I'm saving the sketch.

Hi @tjodork. Are you able to copy files to your G:\ drive from Windows "File Explorer" or save files there using other applications?
due to the errors above ..i switched to putting sketches under Documents/Arduino on my C drive..which i have no issues saving to. I was able to copy the entire set of folders to the G drive and all look good.

sorry.. I was just demonstrating that I CAN copy to the G drive with no problem with file explorer.... while that could be considered a workaround ...i WANT to be able to work from Google drive so things are backed up....vs remembering to copy to google drive.
Hoping for help making this work cleanly with google drive.
