Can't compile any sketch, "stdlib.h not found"

Using Arduino IDE 1.x

I have uninstalled the IDE and all associated Arduino folders and reinstalled and still get this message:

C:\Users\ROBERT\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\arduino\hardware\avr\1.6.23\cores\arduino/Arduino.h:23:20: fatal error: stdlib.h: No such file or directory

compilation terminated.

I have copies of stdlib.h file everywhere but it still does not work!

Here is where they are on my PC. Works fine. Hope it helps.

Also attaching some clean up help that supports DaleScott but goes a little deeper.

CLEAN UP BEFORE INSTALLING ANOTHER COPY OF THE IDE OR ARDUINO CREATE.pdf (347 KB)

LOL thats why I keep it on file !

BTW dont blame me if after using those cleaning tools you computer seems a little faster :wink:
