About a week ago, I started receiving (annoying!) e-mail notifications of every reply to any thread I respond to. I did NOT turn these notifications on, and I am unable to turn them off! I can go to my preferences and un-check the option, and click save, but if I exit the preferences menu, then go back, the option is checked again. How the he11 do I TURN THIS OFF???

I tried the new 'Alert' option, but I got so many emails, that I had to disable it.
In "Notification Preferences" I disable "Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic" and disable everything else as well, for example "Notify me of : Nothing at all".
When I return to the "Notification Preferences" the option is turned on again, and I keep receiving so many emails. I might have to delete my account, which would be a sad, because I use the name "Koepel" on Github as well.
I read the other topics on this subject and in the "Watched Topics" I selected them all, and clicked the button "Use default preference". That sets "No Alerts or Emails" for everything. I hope it helps, I don't know yet.
