The Nano series consists of many boards with different processors, and there are clones from other manufacturers. So: triple check that the board you selected in the IDE is indeed the board you have.
You showed only part of the output of the IDE, not the part that should have said: Using Programmer : jtag2updi when uploading to an Arduino Nano Every.
The OP's partial error message included the VID & PID, and they're not for the Nano Every. They're for the Uno WiFi Rev2. The Nano Every is 2341:0058, and the Uno WiFi Rev2 is 03eb:2145.
Uploading to Nano Every with setting Uno Wifi Rev2 did not exactly reproduce the error in post#1, but did confirm VID 0x03eb and PID 0x2145 for Uno Wifi Rev2.
i didnt choose the uno wifi programmer. its the only option that shows up. if i dont click on the programmer it stays on uploading but before with the erroe codes it was because i had the wrong emulator
Cross-posting is against the Arduino forum rules. The reason is that duplicate posts can waste the time of the people trying to help. Someone might spend a lot of time investigating and writing a detailed answer on one topic, without knowing that someone else already did the same in the other topic.
Repeated cross-posting can result in a suspension from the forum.
In the future, please only create one topic for each distinct subject matter. This is basic forum etiquette, as explained in the "How to get the best out of this forum" guide. It contains a lot of other useful information. Please read it.
The Nano Every uses a SAMD11 chip as the usb interface, and it is put into code download mode by a 1200 bps trigger signal from the ide and runs firmware called MUXTO.
The WiFi Rev2 uses a 32u4 as the interface chip. It is switched into download mode by the 1200 bps trigger and runs mEDBG firmware.
For a Nano Every , the successful download of the blink sketch with with ide 2.3 with verbose output selected in preferences shows:
Sketch uses 1118 bytes (2%) of program storage space. Maximum is 49152 bytes.
Global variables use 22 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 6122 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 6144 bytes.
