Cheapest REM Detector

Hi guys! So i have been doing some research lately about detecting REM sleep. This has been in my todo list for such a long time!
I could only find complicated-to-build EEGs, and some EOGs(tracks eye movement). The only issue is that i do not have access to the required components where i live(amplifiers, filters, etc).
I need to detect REM sleep preety accurately(when it starts with a <30 second margin, and when it ends). The EOG would work because it can track if the eyes are moving, if so, the user is dreaming. In DELTA sleep, the eyes are almost stationary. But as i said, i do not have access to the components. Programming is not an issue( i specialise in C#,so i could just get the raw data trough serial and process it separately).

I want to use the detector to experiment with the induction of lucid dreaming, and some other minor experiments related to sleep.
I do currently have arduino , some basic capacitors and resistors that i scavanged from some old TVs.

So, what would be the option that suits me best?
Thanks for tuning in.

Either You get hold of some functioning sensor, build one or go ahead without sensor.

Hello! How would I go about building such a sensor? Thanks for replying.

Start finding out how such sensors are built and how they work.

What is Your electronical knowledge and experience? You will need quite a lot of that.

Well, my knowledge is sufficient, the issue is the parts :frowning:
Have a nice day!
