Choosing LEDs and resistors for your arduino project

I found a lot of mis-information about driving LEDs - and a lot of questions. So I put together a page about it on my website.

If you find it useful, give me some karma; any feedback, questions or issues just let me know.

Edit: Thanks to those who responded with useful feedback, I've made some corrections and added an image.

I don't like the idea that this website is being used to link to another website when there is no easy way to assess the quality of the information - it may be very good or it may be nonsense.

If the information is posted here it makes peer review much easier.

I think the diagrams would be more accessible to the uninitiated if you had just showed an Arduino pin not a square with a & inside and 2 other wires sticking out the left.

And since you mentioned ports and their current, maybe you should mention what a port is and which pins constitute which ports; they're not just arbitrary groupings of 8 pins.

Good idea - but I also suggest moving that off-site content into this thread...
Ask the mods to delete the irrelevant posts after that is done.

You can put links - if necessary - inside your post (not just text)

is the same as My Link

Thanks Robin2, good point. I've added an image from the start of the page.

Thanks lastchance; if you can explain to me how to get images to show in the right sequence WITHIN the text I'll do that when time permits.

This link tells everything about posting meaningful items

Posting pictures inline - there several posts (I cant spot them), but it’s pretty easy...

Attach your image to the post as an ‘attachment’, then after initially posting the item, copy the image URL from the new post...
then go in and edit the new post - and add the picture within the body of the post using the button or between img tags
