I have a 6V, 6 Ah power supply and need a resistor that can handle 20 Ah of stall current. The resistor should keep the current at 6v, 6Ah.
Ah is a measure of battery capacity, Ampere hours. A or Amperes is a measure of current flow.
If you want to limit the startup/stall current draw of a motor, either use a current limiting motor driver or a current limiting power supply.
Not possible, changing the current will change the voltage drop across the resistor. What type of power supply do you have, it sounds like a battery from your description. Post a link to its technical information.
That's not what a resistor does. As voltage varies, so will current.
Please post a schematic of your project, details of components used and your requirements.
Please read and learn Ohm's law - Wikipedia , it is clear from your question that you don't understand it. Resistors don't behave the way you seem to think they do.
@engineer69
I think you are looking for one of these:
Maybe you have a 6V 6Ah battery... But a 6V 6Ah power supply makes no sense.
Any resistor can handle that, so long as the current is low enough. For example a 0.1W resistor could handle 20Ah if it was a current of 16mA for 52 days, which equals 20Ah.
Error... 20Ah is not a current. 20A is a current.
Still about your sevo setup from your previous post??
Instead of asking things that don't exist, just describe your problem and what you would like to accomplish.
