Circuit Diagram of a motion triggered Electro magnet

Hi there guys and gals

I'm trying to construct a circuit consisting of a 5v electro magnet that would be triggered by a short range proximity sensor. The sensor would have to have quite a narrow range as it would be next to two other of the same circuits.

I was wondering if any of you could recommend any particular sensors to work in conjunction with this to work as a simple OFF/ON trigger and any advice on programming the Arduino UNO for this task.

led laser/receiver. can be very close.
arduino can read 0/1 output and drive a transistor for emag current.
