I have been trying to upload code for "the great resistor here, but every time I do, it says this: " Compilation failed. Please report this issue on our forum"
Hi @i2020. I apologize for the problem you experienced using Arduino Web Editor. Does the problem still occur if you try again now?
This type of problem might be caused by a transient network outage. These usually resolve themselves after a matter of minutes; hours at worst. If so in this case, I would expect you would no longer experience the problem now.
The problem is still continuing with the exact same message. Do you have any ideas on how to fix the problem?
This is the code if you would like to see if you are experiencing the same problem with it
TheGreatResistor_(1).zip (27.9 KB)
OK, I see the problem now. The sketch name contains the parentheses characters ((, )). These are not permitted in Arduino sketch names.
The problem will be solved by removing these characters from the sketch name. Please do this:
- Click the link below to open Arduino Web Editor in your web browser:
https://create.arduino.cc/editor - Select "Sketchbook" from the menu on the left side of the Arduino Web Editor window if the sketchbook view is not already open.
- Find the "TheGreatResistor_(1)" sketch in the list of sketches.
- Click the ▼ button to the right of the sketch name.
A menu will open. - Select Rename Sketch..." from the menu.
The "Rename Sketch dialog will open. - You will notice that the dialog automatically replaced the bad
(and)characters in the sketch name with underscores. You can use that name, or change the name to anything you like (e.g.,TheGreatResistor_1). - Click the "OK" button.
After that, you should be able to upload the sketch without encountering that error.
Please let me know if you have any questions or problems while following those instructions.
That helped, thanks! We are now encountering a different error,
(Attachment Screen recording 2023-10-26 10.48.20 AM.webm is missing)
The code is now giving us the error (object, Object)
The error occurs when we are trying to upload the code to Arduino Nano and it begins flashing. half way through the flashing it gives the error then stops.

Restart Arduino IDE.
Verify code for errors.
Update USB drivers if needed.
I have been trying to upload code for "JUMPING JACK GAME USING 16*2 LCD DISPLAY AND PUSH BUTTON INTERFACING WITH ARDUINO UNO" here, but every time I do, it says this: " Compilation failed. Please report this issue on our forum .
Is there any coding error or what should be done??

Hi @harshitha. The reason for the error is that your sketch name contains the parentheses characters ((, )).
- Find the "lcd_game_ino1_(4)" sketch in the list of sketches.
- Click the ▼ button to the right of the sketch name.
A menu will open. - Select Rename Sketch..." from the menu.
The "Rename Sketch dialog will open. - You will notice that the dialog automatically replaced the bad
(and)characters in the sketch name with underscores. You can use that name, or change the name to anything you like (e.g.,lcd_game_ino1_4). - Click the "OK" button.
After that, you should be able to upload the sketch without encountering that error.
