Code to run a diode laser cutter

I just got a cheap Chinese laser module and I'm trying to get it to turn on, but to no avail. It's got only 3 wires to connect it to whatever system it's normally run on, 12V, GND, and PWM. I'm wondering if anybody out there knows the nuts and bolts of the PWM signal for this type of device or am I just wasting my time until I can get the skinny on it from the manufacturer, which I know will probably not be possible due to it being made in some unidentified Chinese factory. I'm familiar with PWM to modulate the speed of a motor and the like, but I don't know what the module expects to see at that port to even turn on the laser.
Perhaps some of you sharper dudes (and dudettes) out there might offer a suggestion or two to set me in the right direction?

I'm as rookie as they come when it comes to Arduino. However I might lend a hand here.
A laser diode is actually a LED, and works on DC, The PWM is useful to regulate its power output, but not to determine whether it runs or not.
So for what you said it makes me think the parameters of the pulse (the DC voltage, the frequency, the work factor) may be off.
could you let us know the code of the diode, so we can pull the datasheet?

Yeah, I've got no information on the laser at all, just like most of the stuff from China. All it came with was a very badly written instruction sheet with a few specs on it and a few words about focusing it. It says it's a 5.5 watt.

I bought it from Temu. It's the cylindrical one with the clear orange shield. You can't miss it....

So what is your question?

Put 12V between 12V and GND
Put PWM between PWM pin and ground.
