Colour inkjet printer head

has anyone operated a Colour print head using Arduino.
I have a project that requires a 50 mm colour print as the paper moves.
Any help would be appreciated.

Only the print head, or XY media movement as well ?

Thank you for getting back so fast.
Oh .... the optimism!!!!
Just the print head.
It's part of a bigger project. I purchased a PrinCube and was sent an MPrint. The board in it was toasted and the one year warranty didn't happen. So, I'm forced to make my own.
The print head needs to be around 50 - 57mm which is the width of the paper passing by.
I need to print colour and legible QR codes.

wky don't you use a barcode/bill printer?

I am not familiar with a colour one.
Can you please advise.

Hi,

You might be better using a Rasp Pi.
Google;

Tom... :grinning: :+1: :coffee: :australia:

All references are for Thermal printers.
I need colour and I don't believe Thermal Printers can deliver colour.
do you know of any?

Search amazon for "mobile color printer". Some print on 2" wide photo paper. Most appear to be based on Zink Tech (https://zink.com/). Does not print on regular paper.

Thank you. Yes, Zink is interesting however all paper has adhesive backing and isn't appropriate to this application. Also, it is quite slow. Interesting technology and an Industry Disrupter. Wish I had come up with it.

What is exactly your project, what is the application.

Is this a school/college/university project?

Can you please tell us your electronics, programming, arduino, hardware experience?

Thanks... Tom... :grinning: :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Hi Tom
I'm 68, live in Nth East Victoria, working on an invention [have to kill you if I tell you] which has a small component which is a printer.
I am using an Arduino Uno fitted with a CNC shield with 2 stepper motors and a Servo.
Basically, I need to print some data in colour prior to the inventive part of the machine.
I use one servo to move the paper and another to move a printer [Mprint] in the Y axis.
All was going OK until the Mprint [straight out of the box] didn't work. Melted component on it's board. Got to hate those Chinese. They took a good product PrinCube and ruined it.
Anyway:
I didn't want to reinvent the printer however as I only need 50mm of print in the Y axis, I have decided to find a 50mm print head and eliminate the need to travel in the Y axis.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
