Compilation failed avr-g++ missing

Hey, I am working with a MacBook, macOS BigSur. Every compilation fails with the error message "avr-g++: no such file or directory".
Thanks in advance for any help.

Please post the code, using code tags, and the entire error message.

The entire error message is
"fork/exec /Users/rr/Library/Arduino15/packages/arduino/tools/avr-gcc/7.3.0-atmel3.6.1-arduino7/bin/avr-g++: no such file or directory
Fehler beim Kompilieren für das Board Arduino Uno."

Try reinstalling the Arduino IDE.

Thanks for your advice. But I have already reinstalled the IDE. I have also checked the library. There is this file "avr-g++" in the mentioned path missing. In the FAQ is one subject related to this missing file avr-g++, but in combination with a Windows-PC. Unfortunately I can not use the documented procedure there.

I'm not a Mac person, but the solution in this thread may help

If it doesn't keep looking. It appears to be a fairly common problem, especially with Macs.

Thanks jremington for this hint. I will check the outcome there.

That was the solution! It's now working.
Thank you so much jremington
