Our team is attempting to connect 6 Sensirion SFM3013 Gas Flow Sensors to an Arduino to get a reading. We understand that this requires a multiplexer, and the datasheet for the component states the requirement to use 3.3kW pull up resistors. Do these resistors need to be attached to both the SDL and SCL ports for each Mass flow meter that attach to the multiplexer? Are there any other components that we need to consider?
Lol, those would be some mighty resistors! Of course, you meant 3.3K Ohm.
Yes, you will need a pair for each of the secondary busses you are using. A pair for the main bus is also good (it often works without pull-ups on the main bus because the Arduino uses it's internal pull-up resistors, but those are much weaker than the recommended values).
These resistors can be low power, eg. 1/4 Watt or 1/8 Watt
