Connecting a LiPo battery to a L298

Hello all, does anyone know how I can resolve connecting a LiPo battery to a L298? I recently purchased the Arduino Uno R3 Super Starter Kit and I thought that a previous LiPo battery would be able to integrate with the L298. Does anyone know how to go about this, or could they point me in the direction of a piece that can resolve this?

What volts?

What previous battery?

"power"

It's all over the internet, search : "L298n battery" Running DC Motor With Arduino Using L298N Motor Driver : 5 Steps - Instructables

Hi! Welcome to the Forum.

You can buy the male equivalent of your plug and solder wires on it:

Using the smaller wires can also work, but they are rated 1-2A. So they can get hot.

4 wire connector, probably a 3S (11.1V)

Welcome!

Assuming it is a single 3.7V LiPo battery it will not work. The minimum logic voltage for the L298N is 4.5V with a max of 7V. The voltage range for a LiPo battery typically varies from 3.0V (minimum safe voltage) to 4.2V (fully charged voltage) per cell. Now subtract ~3V (bipolar junction drop n device) from the battery voltage and that is what is left for your motor. That leaves you from 0 to 1.2V. I suggest you get a newer version with MOSFET outputs.

Your pictures are not very helpful as they are missing a lot of detail. The best way to present is with an annotated schematic.

Google search: The L298N is a popular, high-current dual full-bridge motor driver module designed for Arduino and robotics, featuring dual-channel H-bridge control for DC or stepper motors. It handles up to 2A per channel and 6.5V-30V, utilizing TTL logic for speed/direction control via PWM and input pins. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

And is a dinosaur, its very inefficient. You will need heat sinking.

Look at Pololu site for decent efficient MOSFET motor drivers.
