Control 12 Volt Light inside Computer via USB??

I need to turn on/off a 12 Volt DC light mounted inside my Computer with my keyboard. It has a positive and negative wire lead.

What USB powered control board can I use that will simplify this task?

Exactly what sort of light is this?

12 Volt DC LED with a positive and negative lead wire.

Yes, its specifications?

Posting a schematic of that portion of the circuit showing power and ground would help us help you. What type of signal are you going to use. My computers have 12V for the hard drives and other items, yours should also. All LEDs have an anode and cathode terminals. How much current does the LED require? Answering this will get us started on your answer. What USB powered control board can I use that will simplify this task? An Arduino of course!

You will need to have some program running on the PC to signal via usb to turn the light on , how will that work ?

You can buy internal lighting specifically for PC’s from a number of sources - that would be far simpler , have you researched that ?

Some PC motherboards have facilitates for this built in

As an alternative a simple push button on the casing to turn it on /off would be very easy to do .
