control a stopwatch with two buttons

I'm sorry.. because the file is too big seems like it remove my attached file.

the file is down here.

OK, I see what he wants to do.

  • Manually RESET the stopwatch.
  • Runners pass S1 to start the timer with Arduino
  • Runners pass S@ to stop the timer. with ArduinoThe interface is to the single button on the external watch (START then STOP... then START then STOP... then START then STOP... etc.)

However there are many things wrong with this idea...
If multiple legs pass S1 or S2 at any time, the timer will start and stop an 'unknown' number of times.
If you forget to manually reset the watch, the times will be meaningless.

The proper approach is either take control of the stopwatch completely, or use the Arduino to do the timing.

  • and figure out how to ignore multiple legs - and legs that overlap each other.

frist of all yeah, I think I just want to reset the stopwatch manually not by a program. and my final goal of this project is to replace SW2 with IR sensor. which is at the finishing line, when a runner passed through the sensor the stopwatch's time will stop. even the system can work on a man and one lap.. it is enough for now.

can you explain to me what do you mean by 'legs' ?

Runners usually have legs...
