hello! I'm a stuck a little with connecting 2 12v dc fan and 6 12v dc lights to my classroom. I have gotten relays too since the arduino uno board supports only 5v. can someone please give me a clear rundown on how I should make these components work since I'm a complete beginner to this field and I have my evaluation next week. the lights and fans should turn on depending on a person count inside the room taken by 2 IR sensors placed either sides of the entry area

Welcome. That is short notice for an evaluation. Expect to have problems passing it as you are compounding delays and answers by not answering questions. To properly answer your question detailed information is needed, which if you had read the guidelines you would know. We cannot see what you have or how you have wired it. I expect the next stuck thing will be the code, which you have not posted along with an annotated schematic.
