Convert Protel .pdf schematic to EagleCAD

Hello guys!

This is my first time in designing a PCB schematic, which I would be using for our project. I'm using EagleCAD by the way, but one of my problems is that one of the components I use there on the circuit doesn't have any schematic equivalent online. It's the A5368CA IC by Allegro.

On the other hand, I have with me a pdf circuit schematic which bears the same chip, components and layout I'm using for the project. I think it's a pdf export from Protel because it is indicated in the name when opened. How do I convert this to a usable EagleCAD .sch file? I also think I need the other PCB design file too.

Thanks and good morning (here in our country).

you might be better off on an Eagle forum .

It looks like a 16 chip , can you not copy an existing chip in the library and modify it ? Google shows a few methods

I'm just starting with EAGLE myself, but I'm pretty sure there's a way to make a custom part or to modify an existing part.

… I was playing around with KiCad for a few days (just a few evenings, actually) and I found it frustrating every step of the way... I finally got the (simple) schematic done but when I started the board layout, it seems like the pad layouts for the copied/customized parts didn't get copied over. So, at that point I'd already had enough frustration and I decided to give EAGLE a try.

Try Newark.com for an Eagle symbol. Have to do a free registration.

I think you can also get symbols at cadsoft.de if poke around enough.
You might also find parts in Sparkfun or Adafruit libraries.

I find it quicker just to create a symbol.
I have a set of slides here that show the process I use. Menu locations might be a little changed from Eagle 7.7 to whatever version you are using.
