Correct way of using an NPN transistor

i will do that, not because i want to be better than you but because i want to teach myself to always take the best and safest route. And for me that starts in the small things, like some leds

atm i am buys fixing one of my TT-motors but after that i will built the transitors and report back!

I agree!
However, in the commercial world cost is a big concern, one resistor is cheaper than four.

alright, it has been a couple of hours and everything is into place. after being a dumb ******** i short circuited 2 of my pins with a taste of 12V. wich made my wifi module start to roast marshmallows and now my esp behaves a bit stranges, it puts pins on high that i didn't tell it to.
But! one of those pins is a transitors pin and the leds turned on. so i can conluded it works.

I will have to buy another ESP, and make sure i am not gonna make that my 3rd, yes this was my second ESP i killed. didn't know i had such talent for killing esp's

 Kind of the hard way. You are not the first person to short out at a circuit.

and this is not my first time and certainly not the last! im just hoping that the day will never come that it is just right before a deadline.
