Custom Midi Controller

Hey guys,

I am brand new to all this and want to try and make a midi controller.
All I want to be able to do is send a message to the DAW(Digital Audio Workstation), in my case Ableton, by touching a piece of wire(inside a paper figure).
Touch the wire, play a sound. Thats all I am trying to do.

What do I need to get started?

A MIDI library and the CapSense library would probably be good places to start. Google will help you find them. They should come with example sketches that will help you learn.
