depreciated conversion error?

I'm trying to play around with some demos for a TFT (and basically any other demo also) and every single thing I try to upload comes up with a "deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' [-Wwrite-strings]" error.

I have no idea how to fix this because I don't even know how to program anything on an arduino....that's what I'm trying to learn.

in this case it has to do with this portion of the code.

I cannot safely ignore it because the sketches won't upload to the Arduino. The IDE is halting the uploading process because of this "warning"

I'm not at home so I can't test compile it and tell you where the error is. You are encountering a different error that is preventing upload.

There may be a better/cleaner way with compiler switches, but I seem to remember this worked for me a long time ago.

I completely don't understand what you're talking about...

You're running into a 1.6.10 bug. If you start version 1.6.10 of the IDE by doubleclicking a .ino file, it will fail to upload sketches. You must start the IDE directly, and then open the sketch.

Version 1.6.9 is not impacted by this issue.
