DIY budget PC ambilight

Hello,

a few days ago, I found small instruction for an DIY ambilight for PC.
Now as I tried to find the nesessary parts for it I'm having a problem with my power supply.
The LED stripe I want to use has 120 WS2812B LEDs at a length of 2m. Also given was the information that it needs 5V at a current of 8.6A per meter. My problem now is that I want to do a budget build, but every power supply I find (5V, 20A, --> 100W) costs 50+€ :slightly_frowning_face:
Has anyone a recommendation for a good but cheap power supply that would fit my case?

Thanks for your help

20A is a lot of current, hence the prices.
You may be able to repurpose an old switching power supply of a PC, and wire all the 5V lines together. They usually can do >20A at the 5V lines.

You need to start gathering electronic things left on the sidewalk. Then you will have a nice junk box with power supplies in it.

Computer power supply.
Or you could build your own, but 50+€ is a small price to pay for not killing yourself.
