Not yet. At least not the type shown here in the thread. Does that play a role in the answer to my question? I don't understand your queries.

The converters regulate best when they have a small load*. The resistor provides this load both for setting the output voltage reliably and for insuring that they have a minimum load if everything is disconnected from them.

  • That is, as opposed to no load at all. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say "some load."
