Hello, my name is Robby, I am working on my final year engineering project. I have never built anything before so I am struggling with this so I came to here for help.
Here is the idea:
To prevent "counter surfing" which is when a dog tries get on the counter top to grab exposed food...
I have thought of this. I have an Arduino on the counter top next to the food. I need some type of transmitter/reciever system that can be equiped to a dog collar compactly and will set off the arduino thats on the counter top when it is within 3feet range.
This should be a simple idea to you guys, but i struggle in finding the right components for the project.
Please help me find the right material.
keeping in mind: The receiver part on the dog collar must be small and compact design.
What school has final year students that haven't built anything at all?
What do you want to happen?
What equipment do you have?
What is the actual goal? Play a noise, flash a light, squirt water, what?
It's a pretty pointless device, but just for a grade, whatever.
No wireless system will give you a reliable proximity. You'd be looking at dumb trip sensors that trigger whether dog or human. And nothing will stop a dog big enough to reach a countertop from getting food other than training.
I am building a training system to prevent counter surfing. When the Arduino is signaled, it will alert the dog using a prerecorded audio message in owner's voice, telling the dog to get down. I plan on using motion detector along with the dog collar receiver. So when the collar is within 3 feet and there is motion it will trigger the system
yes, all i needed to know is what component. Sorry if i sounded like i needed help with my homework. I been researching for days, but i dont know keywords to use to find the appropriate components.
